Experience

Hi, my name is Allanah, and I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist who works with children and adolescents (from the ages of four to eighteen years old) and their families in Sussex. I have worked therapeutically in primary and secondary schools and charity settings including Place2Be and YMCA. Currently, I am working as a children and adolescent therapist in a charity offering support to all ages, genders and backgrounds who have had an unwanted sexual experience.

For the past 30 years I have worked with children, adolescents, young people, and their families in charity, school, and early years settings in Sussex and London. At the heart of my work has always been to listen, support, and offer guidance for the whole family with the child or young person being at the centre. I have a great interest and passion for children and young people’s wellbeing which led me from my teaching career into studying counselling and psychotherapy. I believe that once a child and young person has a safe place and a trusting therapeutic relationship that there is a great possibility to untangle and manage life’s challenges, find their strengths and resources within bringing endless possibilities for growth and understanding.

I hold a Masters degree from Roehampton university in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy specialising in working with children and adolescents. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their ethical framework. I have an Enhanced DBS.
